Instructions for Faculty/Staff
What passwords must Faculty and Staff change?
Faculty and Staff will need to change their PID, Hokies, and Oracle ID passwords before July 1, 2011. Passwords that need to be changed include:
- All PID passwords.
- All Hokies passwords for full user accounts and sponsored accounts.
- Central IT Oracle ID passwords for the production databases Banner, Warehouse, VaTech, Foundation, and GIS.
Once the password has been changed it will be good for 12 months. Passwords that have not been changed by July 1, 2011 will expire and the user will be forced to create a new password.
How to change your PID password?
Log into your MyVT account at http://my.vt.edu and navigate to "Manage Your Profile" located under the Personal Info tab. After opening the "Mange your Profile" link click "Change Password". For more information visit he knowledge base at http://answers.vt.edu/kb/entry/258/.
How to change your Hokies password.
Log into ADadmin at http://adadmin.w2k.vt.edu with your Hokies ID and password. Navigate to "Persons" and select "Change Password". For more information about changing your password please visit the knowledge base article at http://answers.vt.edu/kb/entry/3722/.
How to change your Oracle ID password.
Navigate to https://banweb.banner.vt.edu/vt/prod/irm_password_change.main_menu and select which Oracle instance you would like to change. Most users will change the Banner instance password. Important Warning! Never Send Your Password by Email
Virginia Tech will NEVER ask you to send your password via email. You should not respond to emails that ask for your user ID and password. Beware of phishing attempts!
